Maybe not as sarcastic as you meant =) Seriously? Send a bill to the GAL. You lost time and money because she failed to show. Your time and money ARE worth something. Every court works differently, so whether the GAL is an actual employee of the court, or they are independent contractors who are paid per case, I cannot say, and those differences may impact whether such an invoice from you would be paid or not, but I'd send a big fat invoice to the GAL for the 6.5 hours lost that day, AND I'd be asking the judge to find her in contempt. She isn't immune from legal action against her when her actions or lack thereof warrant such.

Default Gal

I think I would be causing friction between myself and the GAL.She is my ally in court and her reports put me in a good light for custody.Dare I take a chance and make her mad-I think that would be unwise-albeit justified.

You may want to wait until after your case is settled first.

Smile re:GAL

The real bottom line is I still am guaranteed my granddaughter is in loving safe hands for 6 more months.Maybe by then my daughter will "see the light" and get away from BRUISER the boyfriend. That would be the path to resolution.Money well spent.

That is the bottom line. The safety and well being of the child. Good luck to you and your family.
