Exclamation Getting Back PrePaid Rent

My father passed away in January. When he moved into the property the family trust paid his rent in full for one year therefore paid for through August of this year. He did not leave a will but we went through the courts like we were supposed to with help from family attorneys. The property management was very helpful with us until the second I handed the property over to them. From that moment on, they won't return my phone calls, return any prepaid rent or even give me receipts for the cleaning of the place. I am one of the reps of the estate as well as my Aunt. The company runs through an answering service and there isn't a specific location that I can just go to and talk to someone in person. I have filed a complaint with the AG and they are launching their own investigation but other than that I don't know what to do next. The company is section 8 housing and no matter what number I call for the company to leave a message I get nothing back. I found the property online for rent and inquired about renting it under a different name and email and two weeks later, still no response for even that. Any help on the matter would be appreciated. I'm at my wits end with all of this and just want to be done.

I am sorry for your loss. Have you browsed through the information in LawInfo's Free Legal Resource Center to learn more about your issue yet? See: http://www.lawinfo.com/consumer.html and http://resources.lawinfo.com/en/index.html. You can certainly try to speak to a lawyer to determine what legal options may be available. In the meantime, you may be able to learn more on your own. Search the "Free Legal Resources" tab, or browse the Consumer Resources. Good luck.
