Default Ga: Apartment office won't disclose their Corporate headquarters. Please read more.

Okay, I live in an apartment complex in south GA. The "landlord" is just someone who lives on property and tries to take care of the place. Well, she's doing an absolutely terrible job. When we notify her of a problem, she doesn't do anything.. And basically the whole complex is upset about it. She's an angel when it comes to having visits from her bosses. Unfortunately she will make sure they don't ever get around a renter, and she won't ever let us contact them. When we ask if we can have their email / website / phone number / mailing address, she's like "OH! Well, you can just give me a letter if you want to send it to them, and I'll make sure that they get it.." or "OH! Well, you can send me an email, and I'll forward it to them."
Really? We don't trust her enough as it is, as sad as that is to say. Do we have a right to know who owns the place that we live in? Or am I just helpless in trying to have a decent apartment and "landlord?"

Have you tried checking out the land records in your county. They will list who owns the house. Have you browsed through the information in LawInfo's Free Legal Resource Center to learn more about your issue yet? See: http://www.lawinfo.com/consumer.html. You can certainly try to speak to a lawyer to determine what legal options may be available. In the meantime, you may be able to learn more on your own. Search the "Free Legal Resources" tab, or browse the Consumer Resources. Good luck.
