Default What exactly is Hostile Work Environment?

I was hired at a local State Correctional Facility and put into a brand new position. Maintenance Secretary. There were two men and one woman who insisted that a Man should be in my position. These three people put me through absolute hell and caused me to be terminated. I tried to get help from the Wardens and by filing a grievance that is when I was terminated.

Default Response

The definition of hostile work environment varies and depends on the facts of you specific situation. It may be wise to have your specific factual situation analyzed by an attorney in your jurisdiction. And you should have this done IMMEDIATELY so that you don't lose important rights. Many lawyers offer a free or low-cost initial consultation just for the purpose of determining whether they can help you. Don't be afraid to contact them. Our Lead Counsel Panels at http://www.lawinfo.com/law/ are a great way to find a lawyer in your area on the internet.

Default Work is becoming very hard to deal with

I am needing some advice on how to deal with things that are happening at work. For many years my boss and I were seeing each other. We just recently stopped. Work has been unbearable for many years exactly 6 years ago. Five years ago I moved from the location I had worked at for 10 years to a different branch because I thought it was best for all involved. I gave up the best job I ever had becsuse of him moved to a branch that I don't enjoy at all. I gave so much up and for what? He is still where he was and I am now being put in a position where I may have to leave. Pressure is being put on me from him because he feels someone might ask me what the problem is. I am not liking this because I feel he is pushing me out the door saving his own skin. Please help me with this. I am unhappy because I have worked so hard to get where I am.

You need to check to see if its illegal to court a co-worker, its not accepted in most States, if the subject continues to threaten, harrass in ANY form shape or way, technically speaking, and pardon me if this seems incorrect. However it sounds like if you play your cards right you could get him on black mail. Again check your local Laws, what about tape recording, is that legal in your State? If not, have the person in question leave a voice mail, personal V.M's are always legal latterally in the States. The other case in point is..if it is illegal to court a co-worker? Then put that relationship on blast to the proper authoritys, since the damage is done. & I sincerely say that in all due respect, you dont have to take it, I've merely given you a sword to sharpen, rather than a rose.
