Default estate question concerning death of sibling

Recently my father in law and his sister both inherited their late sister's estate which was to be settled this coming february but before that could take place his remaing sister has passed away. He is in his 90's and has been left as the executor of this estate and has many questions that he is trying to sort out on his own. I am trying to help him as best I can and one of his questions is his last remaining sister had a son whom will inherit her portion of her half of his late sister's estate. He needs to know if there is any documents he needs to sign or anything he needs to do to make sure that is clear her son is to inherit that half from the estate or if it will just be understood since he is the surviving heir of his sister that was left when the estate was settled. Right now my father in law is the excutor of the first sister that died will so he wants to make sure he has all the paperwork in order so her son will get his share of his late sister's estate and all the i's are dotted and t's are crossed. any help anyone can give me concerning the laws of kentucky and this question is greatly appreciated. Every state has different laws regarding matters such as this. Your father in law may want to speak with an attorney to discuss his legal options and to make sure that everything goes smoothly. Some do offer free consultations. You can locate an attorney through the attorney locator on Lawinfo's home page at http://www.lawinfo.com/.
