Employee litigation (FLSA- overtime and min wage claims) is coming- are you prepared?
A group of Plaitniff lawyers have moved their PI and Workers' Comp practices to FLSA claims. Any business with GROSS sales over $500k is an open target. There is no minimum number of employees like many other federal laws. Just calling someone a manager or paying a "salary" does not make you exempt from overtime requirements. Do you keep timerecords for the salaried employees? They get double damages and attorney's fees, so a $2,000 claim turns into $7,500 overnight.
