driving without a driver licence
Yesterday I was got in a car accident. I didn't get a ticket because of that, it was a weather thing, but I got a ticket for not having a valid id/driver licence. so I have court and I don't know what's going to happen in court, so I need advice on what's going to happen.

Hello Wil Gar,
Is your license suspended or expired? Generally, the accident is a civil matter if no ticket was issued. The real concern for you is whether you had insurance or not, as in WA, auto insurance is mandatory, and if you have no insurance, the other driver's ins. co. will wait out the statute of limitations before sending you a bill, and if you don't respond quite quickly to the bill, they will move to have one's license supended before one can file suit to determine actual fault for the accident. It's a racket that I am personally familiar with. This leaves one holding the bag, without a day in court, leaving full payment or bankruptcy as the only remaining options. It is, and one is, quite thoroughly screwed. Good luck,

How do you have valid insurance without a valid driver's license?

Hello,
That's a question that I was wondering about as well. I think that one can carry insurance on a vehicle without a driver's license, hence avoiding a ticket for no insurance, but in the instance of an accident, the insurance company will not honor the policy, rather, the policy holder. Its a great deal for the insurance company for obvious reasons.
I believe one is allowed to maintain the policy so that other drivers are covered when driving the vehicle. Isn't an SR22 mandatory insurance to cover a driver, and standard insurance policies cover particular vehicles? I'm not sure though, so if anyone is, add a post to educate us.
