What has to be on a Doctor's note in Calif? I recently went to the E.R. at a local hospital & they gave me an excuse that said may return to work in 3 days; my boss said if it doesn't say what I had that he will start changing the schedule ( less hours ). They had diagnosed me on my discharge papers as food poisoning, but I had some stomach virus.... since grandson also got it! My manager says that he has to know if I'm o.k. not to be bringing something to them; I'm a waitress & I agree with that aspect.... yet I started vomiting at work & had to work for 2 1/2 hrs. before a replacement came. Does the law require them to know the diagnosis or is the date to return to work sufficient?
