What channels should I take to disown my parent? I want nothing to do with her for various reasons, most being personal. However, one key reason for my desire to do this is so that I can be seen as entirely independent from my mother so that I may file for financial aid for college by myself. I can't do this unless I marry, turn 24 or disown her. The two former options are out of the question as I will not marry at 20, nor will I be 24 for 3.5 years. I strongly oppose being kept out of school as a result of not being able to complete my financial aid forms.
