Default Dental records

My story is very long so I will give a very brief summary. I am allergic to some dental materials. A dentist gave me porcelain veneers in 2004 but I was allergic to the cement. It contained acrylic. He knew that and he knew I was allergic to acrylic. I filed a complaint with the VT dental society and then he agreed to replace the veneers with crowns at no cost. He did some work for free but charged me for some. He did a bad job on 4 of the 11 crowns.

I went to another dentist and asked him to do the last 4 crowns with the identical type of crown that the good ones were made of - inline porcelain fused to a captek core. He said he would do that but he lied and put in Lava crowns. They tasted terrible. He then put in emax crowns and told me they were the same as the inline. They weren't. They taste terrible. I went to the ceramic companiy's website and saw that there were several differences between their inline and emax ceramics. There are also different ways to glaze the emax. I found the name of the labs that made my crowns but they won't talk to me. The dentists won't give me any more information.

Don't I have a right to know what substances are in my crowns? I want MSDSs for the crowns, the glaze, and the pigmets but they won't give them to me. What legal options do I have? I don't want to have to spend a lot of money on this. I have already spent tens of thousands trying to fix my teeth.

Have you browsed through the information in LawInfo's Free Legal Resource Center to learn more about your issue yet? See: http://www.lawinfo.com/consumer.html and http://resources.lawinfo.com/en/index.html. You can certainly try to speak to a lawyer to determine what legal options may be available. In the meantime, you may be able to learn more on your own. Search the "Free Legal Resources" tab, or browse the Consumer Resources. Good luck.
