hey all. my sister is in a situation where she is trying to consolidate her defaulted federal student loans. she is in the process of consolidation but one of the credit companies that took over some of her debt is threatening to garnish her wages and told her that once they begin garnishment she will be unable to consolidate the loans that she is being garnished for. can they garnish her wages when the loan is in the process of being consolidated? i think they may be lying to her trying to scare her...whatever. but if anyone has any info. it would be much appreciated. thanks katie
