Default Crazy Condo Owner

I purchased a condominium as a second home 4 years ago in a upscale gated beach community on the shores of Lake Michigan. I bought this residence as an escape from the City and a place that my family could go to to get away and enjoy our company. Overall the place is fantastic, however, there is one resident that has been a constant thorn in the side of not only myself but every other resident in the community.

This woman must have a mental imbalance. She is inflamatory, makes numerous slanderous and untrue comments about her neighbors, continuously sends venomous unsolicited emails to agitate residents, threatens to sue and has filed unsuccessful lawsuits in the past, makes unreasonable demands constantly. There have been residents who have let themselves be sucked into her negative behavior and have literally sold their homes because of her.

The Association, aside from this womans consistant interference has pressed on making our community a better place to live, yet despite their efforts, this woman continues to make every unit owner unable to enjoy their property without interuption and others continue to list their homes for this sole reason.

Is there any legal way the association or reisdents in general can file a lawsuit for her to cease her constant baseless threats and behavior. People here want to live in peace and enjoy their homes with their families. This resident makes it impossible to do so. Is there no protection we can seek to make her act in a more civil way? I write this on behalf of 100 other unit owners who would whole heartedly agree with the above.

I can certainly understand this is a frustrating situation for you. I suggest you contact an attorney to determine your legal options. You can find an attorney through the locator service on LawInfo’s home page at: http://www.lawinfo.com/.

You can also browse through the information in LawInfo’s Free Legal Resource Center here: http://www.lawinfo.com/index.cfm/fus...lient.consumer, or search for your particular topic here: http://resources.lawinfo.com/index.html.
