Default Court Summons For Driving While Suspended

First of all, new to the forums and want to say hello! Just a little about myself. First of all, anyone who meets me knows I'm extremely A.D.D., forgetful, and a few other things. I've been going to psychiatrists/psychologists for years, taking medication to try and control all that mess going on in my head. (Just a little background information to see if it may be useful during my court appearance). Anyways, onto the incident!

First of all, I am the type of person that is 100% truthful. If I know I was speeding, and get caught for speeding, I will admit it that I did. Now, same is for the opposite. If I was speeding, and just wasn’t paying attention, I’ll admit to that.
Anyways, back to the story. In November I was getting onto an on-ramp on I-70, downtown. Traffic was a bit heavy, so I had to speed up to get in. I wasn’t paying attention to my speed and had sped up to around 70 in a 55. I was pulled over by an undercover Indiana State Trooper in one of those absolutely beautiful Ford Mustangs. Although the officer was nice, I still received a ticket. I was told that I had 60 days to pay it.
A little while after, the company I worked for, closed their doors, throwing me into an A.D.D. tailspin, and throughout the mess, I forgot to pay the ticket.
A few weeks after I was supposed to pay it (remember, I already forgot about it), I was pulled over by a police officer stating that I was swaying back and forth in between the lanes. He did the sobriety test, saw that I was completely sober, and ran my license. He came back and told me my license was suspended, towed my car, and gave me a ticket for driving while suspended.
A few weeks later I paid the ticket, and went for a drive to a friends. One evening, I was pulled over, again. But for this time, he pulled me over because my headlight was blown. He ran my license, and told me that it was still suspended. So, again, I was given another ticket for my license being suspended.
A few days later I received a letter in the mail stating my license was reinstated.
Now, on January 23rd I received a letter in the mail telling me my license would be suspended for four months due to getting more than two tickets within a period of six months.
Then, today around 8 o’clock, I got pulled over by the Indiana State Police because I was drifting between lanes. Unfortunately, this was unintentional. The vehicle has a terrible pull doing the alignment being off. So, today again, they impounded my car and gave me a court date that I must appear at.
Pretty much, I would like a run-down of what will most likely be happening. If any of my mental problems resulting in forgetting things (documented by psychologist and psychologist) should be brought up. And also, do I need a lawyer for something like this.

There are probably more questions I need to answer, so ask away. I hope I didn’t make it too confusing. If I need to clarify anything, please speak up.

Thanks again for everyone’s help.

LMHConcepts.

Yes you need a lawyer. In some states you can go to jail for driving while suspended. Have you browsed through the information in LawInfo's Free Legal Resource Center to learn more about your issue yet? See: http://www.lawinfo.com/consumer.html and http://resources.lawinfo.com/en/index.html. You can certainly try to speak to a lawyer to determine what legal options may be available. In the meantime, you may be able to learn more on your own. Search the "Free Legal Resources" tab, or browse the Consumer Resources. Good luck.
