Post In the court of law should I be still held responsible?

My ex and I divorced in 99, Our son(Will) decided to stay with him so I let him when signing the divorce papers I didnt ask for my half of what we had at that time which was 70 acres of land, 120 cattle, 4 horses, and the house that came with it, for the reason of child support, it was said that the husband made an substantial amount of money and didnt ask for child support, as long as I remained a full time student. I wasnt able to get into college right away starting over I remarried and together we had my second son(Al).. I became a student in 2004. In 2006 i had to file a hardship due to my younger son needing surgery, hes an hemophilac. I had to take a job after that in construction. Which I worked for several months, I maintained visitation with Will over the years getting him 1st and 3rd weekends... Until Feb of 06 the ex stopped all visitation due to his personal reasons, He had a G/F in Florida which he had a little girl with, they couldnt get along so now she gets 750 a month child support for. The Ex drags me into court telling the judge that I havent given him a dime for our son Will. Which everytime I recieved a student loan check I was buying him what he needed and sending it home. (no reciepts to show for it). The ex has since remarried another lady with 2 kids(they arent the ex's kids), He also has a 40,000 Dollar hummer and a collectors corvette valued at 20,000 dollars- He never accounted for the boats and 4 wheelers that he has as well. I travel with my job and started this after the ex stopped all visitation. So I have myself and my younger son Al with me. I will make maybe 30,000 this year and hes expecting me to give him 500 Plus child support a month. I feel like I have personally sacrificed enough to not give him a dime, If our child is in need of something I can buy it when he would come to visit.. but that doesnt seem good enough. He sold our land for $150,000.00 then bought a house in Florida, then sold it for unknown amount then moved to Atlanta with his new job rent free... He had a truck that he sold for $28,000. Now that he has the new wife they have moved and found a new place. When he moved to Florida Will wasnt suppose to leave the state of Ga... My agravation is will he be allowed to recieve funds from me? I have to reappear in court once I get all my funds written down, Al is very costly with his blood disorder, The courts are asking me to do a child support worksheet.. The ex has had alarge amount of money since i have left him, what has he done with it all?? How can I beat this and maybe have the judge see that he is in contempt of our divorce papers with the visitation, And or what can just simple be down about this?

I do understand your frustration. I would suggest that you post this under family law as well. Child custody and child support are two different issues. He can't just stop visitation if you have an order. He is in contempt then. As for the child support, your situation is complicated and I would suggest that you speak with an attorney regarding your legal options. I do understand that this may be costly, but it may end up better for you in the long run. You can locate one through the attorney locator on Lawinfo's home page at http://www.lawinfo.com/. Some do offer free consultations.
