I have a question about my former employer. I was shorted 3 paycheck in 2 months. And they keeps switching my hours with maybe a 2 days notice (6 times in 2 months). Then they wanted to switch it again after being switch a week before. Well, my friends and family thought it was a good idea to quit this job. I had to quit though because of the scheduling problem. Well, I just got my last paycheck, and they took my $10 an hour to $6.10 and took my vacation and bonus that was supposed to be on this check. I called them about it and they said it was in the hand book...now I don't have a handbook of my own..they only showed us a copy and posted it on the wall. They say this was in there all along..but I don't have a copy and they said we had to sign the paper to say we saw the hand book. Well, I'm not sure if anything has changed in there. And have no proof but I don't remember this being in the handbook I read. I don't think this is fair..they didn't give me much of a notice. How could they expect me to give one..and now they are punishing me for it. Is there anything I can do?
I can understand that this is a frustrating situation for you. You may want to speak with the local labor board. They should be able to help you out with this.
