I dissolved a business partnership last year. Recently, a creditor is suing me and my former partner (who continues running the business). I contacted a lawyer. At first the lawyer thought that years ago he was the attorney for my former business partner in a divorce. He said it would be a conflict of interest to be my attorney. When he realized it was not the same person, he took my case. Since that lawsuit another lawsuit from another creditor has come forward. My attorney told me to file a pro se response since I am no longer with this company. Then I saw on the online court records that my attorney is serving as the attorney for my ex partner in the very lawsuit he told me to file pro se. Isn't this a conflict of interest???
