Commercial Eviction
Does anyone know the laws regarding commercial eviction? Can a commercial landlord evict you using the local police chief without a court order, have your utilities turned off (in your name) and your mail stopped, keep possession of your equipment, tools, customer vehicles and personal vehicles (automotive repair shop) without any notice or court order. After he accomplished this, he then turned to badmouthing us in town to our vendors and customers and some of our equipment that he had in his building repossessed. He then started selling stuff. He then falsfified an eviction notice and a document stating that he had purchased a tire company that we had purchased so that he could keep the tire equipment, we have the original purchase agreement. Do we have any grounds for any recourse for this? He basically used his local "status" in a small town to completely ruin us. We're not innocent, by no means, but it seems like he shouldn't be able to completely destroy us without some type of laws? Any advice would be helpful, or the name of an attorney in Indiana that could help. Thanks!
