We have just finalized a Reverse Mortgage or at least I thought we did. We signed the closing papers on January the 6th and were told that our loan would be funded on the 9th of January. Now we find out that our loan was not funded until the 14th or 15th of January. My previous mortgage holder was not even asked for a Demand Payoff until the 14th. My previous mortgage holder is apparently still charging us interest and since I did not make a payment a late charge for being 15 days late. Who is responsible for funding a loan and making all required payments and if not done when specified what legal recourse if any do I have? It is extremely important that the January 6th close date be honored as the loan rate has gone up about 0.5 percent since that date.
