Angry child support privacy

my employer is located in a small mall. i was looking at a ring for my girlfriend in the jewelery store in the mall and the owner of the jewelery store mentioned that my employer told him i had a bunch of kids scattered through out the country. i have 5 kids in 2 state, now we live and work in a small town, in this mall there are 3 salons (one of which the owner and his wife attend on a regular basis, for haircuts and such) and a wellness spa, now i'm betting that, after finding out today that the jewelery store owner knows my child support business, that there are other business owners who know this also. My child support is paid every check (garnishment), I've personally contacted all my children and informed them that they are not only wanted in my life but needed because i love them. we are in constant contact now and i'm sorry i didnt do this earlier. i am no longer a deadbeat dad. however the world treats you awful when they find out this type of information. i've even been fired from a few jobs after they received my child-support info. he had NO RIGHT to go around telling my personal information like that, what can i do?

Nothing. sorry but there is no law to protect you from others finding out you have children and pay support

Have you browsed through the information in LawInfo's Free Legal Resource Center to learn more about your issue yet? See: http://www.lawinfo.com/consumer.html and http://resources.lawinfo.com/en/index.html. You can certainly try to speak to a lawyer to determine what legal options may be available. In the meantime, you may be able to learn more on your own. Search the "Free Legal Resources" tab, or browse the Consumer Resources. Good luck.
