Default child support in florida

I need help. My son used to live in Missouri with his Mom. I had an order to pay support and I did. In february 2010 my son came to live with me. I went to Florida Child support in March 2010 and tried to file a claim. I handed my caseworker the existing order ( against me) and asked that it be reversed. The case worker searched for the mother in the wrong state, even though the order I handed her had her correct address and I gave her the correct address several times. Missouri finally got the request in August 2010, the mother contested and it was put off till May of 2011. It was postponed again until June 22 2011. My problem is this, Missouri stated that they will be going by the date they received the request, NOT the date I filed. Can they do this? Which states guidelines and laws have to be followed since my son and I live in florida and the noncustodial parent lives in Missouri? We are living on 800 a month and I cant afford an attorney. Is there any one that can help me? We are desperate to have some kind of assistance...we have been waiting for a year and half but Missouri is not sympathetic as they see it only being a few months. I provided proof of enrollment in school and they still dont seem to care that he has been here since Feb 2010 not Aug 2010.....what can I do??? Furthermore, are there any lawyers that do pro bono work for fathers trying to get child support?
thanks

Have you browsed through the information in LawInfo's Free Legal Resource Center to learn more about your issue yet? See: http://www.lawinfo.com/consumer.html and http://resources.lawinfo.com/en/index.html. You can certainly try to speak to a lawyer to determine what legal options may be available. In the meantime, you may be able to learn more on your own. Search the "Free Legal Resources" tab, or browse the Consumer Resources. Good luck.
