A friend of mine recently accidentally broke his baby's arm while removing him from his car seat. I was wondering if anyone knew what possible consequences might come from this.

It could be anything from a criminal charge of child abuse or neglect to removal of the child from the home to supervised visitation or some combination of these. It'll really depend on whether law enforcement takes the lead and treats it as a criminal act or whether child protection authorities take the lead and treat it as a case where monitoring or removal is more appropriate.
