Is it legal for a private business owner to boot your car if improperly parked in their lot in the state of Arizona. I was parked in a store's lot in Flagstaff for about 15 minutes, and when I returned there was a boot on it. They wanted $50 to take it off. One of my concerns is that if they boot my car, then close the store for the weekend, I have no way of recovering my car as I would if I had to go to the city to take it off. It seems that there should be a law protecting me from someone essentially arresting my personal property.
