if anyone knows how to or knows someone that has converted a c-1 visa please let me know...

I'm sorry, but I've never heard of someone being able to change status from C-1 (transit visa) to anything else. In fact, I believe you cannot even change status based on marriage to a U.S. citizen, if your last status was C-1 and you didn't leave the country. I'm not completely sure, but I double checked myself. I believe the only thing you can do is leave the U.S. and file for a new visa to come back.
