Default breaking timeshare contracts

I have had a timeshare contract since 1987---I have faithfully paid for the rental and the maintenance fee up to 2004----I ran into financial difficulty and old management said I defaulted on my contract and I lost everything. Didn't worry about until I received something from new management company saying I owe $5000. for unpaid maintenance.
What's the best thing for me to do? They want payment and I lose the property/weeks.
Good advice would be helpful

I can certainly understand this is a frustrating situation for you. I suggest you contact an attorney to determine your legal options. You can find an attorney through the locator service on LawInfo’s home page at: http://www.lawinfo.com/.

You can also browse through the information in LawInfo’s Free Legal Resource Center here: http://www.lawinfo.com/index.cfm/fus...lient.consumer, or search for your particular topic here: http://resources.lawinfo.com/index.html.
