You messed up by promising him property that you didn't legally own. If the RV wasn't titled to you, you couldn't legally sell it or offer it as a down payment. He can sue for breech of contract, in which case the court may give you the option of either returning the boat to him (and getting perhaps some of your money back, less amounts for use and wear/tear), or paying him an amount equal to the value of the RV you promised and then you keep the boat.
