Default Being set up for termination

My wife is being set up for termination, she has worked for this company for over three years, then about 3 months her boss got fired, and they brought in a new boss. This ne bos has just recently gave my wife a writen warning (she never has been warned before verbal or writen), but everything on the writen warning is blatent lies, and frabracations. My wife filed a report with hr on the lies but hr even recongized that they were not true, but still sided with the new boss.

Is there anything we can do, other then me taking care of it in a unconvential way?

CA is an "at will" state this means your wife's employer may fire her at any time for any or no reason long as the firing does not violate law, cba or, employment contract

In general, most employees are considered at-will and can be terminated immediately for any reason, or no reason at all, unless there is a written employment contract in place specifying that the employee can only be terminated for cause. Sometimes "cause" is defined, sometimes not, but generally would include circumstances such as failure to meet the job qualifications, misconduct, etc. However, it is illegal to deny employment on the basis of a protected class (like race, gender, religious beliefs, etc.)

I suggest you contact an attorney to determine your legal options. You can find an attorney through the locator service on LawInfo’s home page at: http://www.lawinfo.com/.
