my brother lost his house to a tax sale,prior to the new owner receiving the deed he took everything out of the house. ex: ceiling fans, door knobs,etc... all of which he had receipts for. now he is being prosecuted for larceny, HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE???

Those items belong with the house. If he had sold the house, all of those things would have stayed with the house.
