Default Bankruptcy---How it effects your job, etc...

I have a few questions concerning backruptcy that I haven't been able to get answered. Does bankruptcy affect job hiring if it is a position that requires you to carry a company card? Is there a law that protects those who file bankruptcy against this?
Also, what if you are in the process of filing for bankruptcy and then start a new job that pays significantly more than what you were making when you filed? Does that affect anything? Do you need to disclose to your lawyer before you file that you may be offered a new job? or that you have been offered one that doesn't begin for awhile?
Finally, my husband traded in one of our gas gusslers for a new car that is a bit more expensive but saves us money in the end due to the cost of gas. My name is not on the car and we are only declairing bankruptcy on me (because of my business---sole proprietorship) Could they take my husbands car away? I really appreciate any help that can be offered.

I can certainly understand this is a frustrating situation for you. I so suggest you consult a bankruptcy attorney to determine whether filing bankruptcy is the right choice for you, assuming it is an available option... it is not always granted. You can learn about bankruptcy here:

Bankruptcy filing may impact certain jobs to the extent that a good financial record is important to the job. This is one thing you could certainly discuss with an attorney. Feel free to post any follow-up questions after you've reviewed those links.

Good luck!

Any job that is heavily financially related is going to be a problem for someone going through bankruptcy. Most human resource management ask for a credit-check now, but I've never heard of the average job denying someone employment due to bad or no credit. It would definitely be in your interest to talk to a bankruptcy specialist about this stuff.
