Default auto purchase

I recently purchased a 1998 blazer and traded in my 1994 van. The office girl that wrote up the contract assumed the van was paid for. However she did not ask and there was $1500 left. I stopped at the bank to see why they had not sent me the van title yet. They informed me it had not been paid off. This was Dec 26th which was nearly 4 weeks after the purchase and past time for the van payment. Needless to say I was shocked and then...had to come up with that payment too. To make a long story short they are trying to force me to come up with the extra money which I can not do. I have already contacted the better business and both of us have expressed our opinions but are not able to come to an agreement...she insists it is my problem and they will no longer talk to me about it. All I want is my old van back and get out of this mess. They claim they have sold my van but...note they do not have the title to it. Note: The salesperson had been told that I still owed on the van but failed to share with his wife (office girl). He had also been informed that I had a small amount of funds to work with and could only afford $175 monthly payments. More than once I tried to leave and think about it but he followed me to my van. He kept talking about me just taking it home tonight. However I had to fill out all the paper work to do so. Sure wish I would have listened to my gut and gone home.
