Attorney misconduct

I hired a lawyer. I paid his fee. He hasn't done anything about my case. Now he won't return my phone calls or answer emails. All attempts by me to contact him have failed. I have asked him to mail me my papers so I can hire another lawyer but he does not answer or send them. What can I do?
