I got divorced 3 years ago. in our custody papaers it states all legal and physical rights go to mom only dad has very limitted visitation. it was an uncontested divorce he didnt even show up for it. I know he didnt have to.
My problem now id it seems every few months this man decides to stir the pot and say he is going to take me to court and sue for full custody. the child in question is 16 yrs old. she attends school, she has a home with me in our tiny 1 bedroom apartment. she has food and clothing and she is like any teen she likes to go sleep over at her friends houses when she can. i always know where she is.
last dec she got mad at me and went to live with him but moved back in with me in march. he wasnt allowed to have her but i let her go. i never stop her from talking to her dad or visiting him. he has not held up parts of his side of our agreement he stopped having her covered by insurance for 2 yrs untill i finally threw a huge fit. he has never provided her with life insurance as he was supposed to and when his parents died it was in our custody that any inheritance half would go into trust for the kids ( the other 2 are now legal age). the kids never saw 1 dime of it not even the value of the truck he got that was barely 3 yrs old.
in may nad june of this year he would call my cell daily making threats about the family cat and her things she left there stating he would throw them away and take the cat to the pound and have me fined for him. i got sick of his calls and asked the police to ask him to stop. they spoke to both of us and told him and me no contact unless it was about the minor child i have honored that and so thankfully has he but he still tells our adult kids he is going to take her away.
i dont do drugs. I'm not a hooker, I have a full time job. yes i socially drink but never nightly. yes i date men im an adult i can do that. she isnt around these men. so im not an unfit parent. how can i get this man to stop these child like threats once and for all. what age in idaho can she chose without a doubt who she wants to live so he will stop. even she has called him asking him to stop this drama and act like an adult and has told him on the cell before me and her friends she doesnt want to live with him ever. she wants to be in her school and she wants to continue with her life and not move out of town with him. any advice will be helpful.
