Default 2 days notice to vacate, plus LL says he's cutting off the water??

Ugh, I typed all this out a minute ago and it asked me to login when I clicked submit. I'll try to be as descriptive as I was before. Our landlord (LL) sent me an email tonight saying that since we haven't paid this month's rent, and he's had a tough time getting in touch with us, he's having us removed for abandonment. We always pay our rent, but it's usually late. We are only behind 2 weeks and we pay monthly. He sent an email saying he was cutting off the well water for this house Monday (2 days from now), and wanted us gone Monday. Here's a cut/paste of his email he sent tonight. From what I know, this isn't legal. I don't want to be difficult, but I will not be run-over by a LL who isn't willing to work with me and my family. Any advice?

Email:

"This serves as notice that due to lack of payment and the inability of any communication to be able to reach the tenant, we have canceled the lease due to abandonment. We will be making arrangements to secure the property and take control to minimize any damage. We will have workers from the company on site to take control and secure the property Monday morning April 18th, 2011
Please advise that you will be off the property. Any communication would be helpful to us to work with you in leaving the property in good condition and any balancing that you still owe.
We would appreciate your corporation with this matter and are willing to help you with any balance you might owe.

I will be contact the utilities tomorrow, and the water will be cut off this on Monday."

Have you browsed through the information in LawInfo's Free Legal Resource Center to learn more about your issue yet? See: http://www.lawinfo.com/consumer.html and http://resources.lawinfo.com/en/index.html. You can certainly try to speak to a lawyer to determine what legal options may be available. In the meantime, you may be able to learn more on your own. Search the "Free Legal Resources" tab, or browse the Consumer Resources. Good luck.
