Arrow 15 1/2 wants to be emancipated in hawaii?

i'm fifteen, i'll be 16 in april. i'm moving back to hawaii to live with my mom but we my end up becoming so low on money that we won't be able to pay rent. is it possible that i could be emancipated if i go to school and get a job? is it possible if i do get emancipated to get assistance like housing, or foodstamps, or medicaid?

any and all info you have on this would be great. thank you!

I have info but you wont like it. My research shows your state has no statute to emancipate a teen. Even if it did you have several problems

. Your age (most states require you at least be 16)
. You have no job (I am going to get one wont wash)
. You have no place to live (staying with friends don't count)

By the way going on public assistnce wont wash either. Emancipation is about "self" support

These to name a few

I agree with underdog. Have you browsed through the information in LawInfo's Free Legal Resource Center to learn more about your issue yet? See: http://www.lawinfo.com/consumer.html. You can certainly try to speak to a lawyer to determine what legal options may be available. In the meantime, you may be able to learn more on your own. Search the "Free Legal Resources" tab, or browse the Consumer Resources. Good luck.
