Default 1203.4 DMV job aplicatons??!!

Got convicted in Oct 1999 of pot sales. Conviction set aside and verdict changed to "not guilty" thru 1203.4 in Oct of 2003 after completion of probation. I have run $20 criminal background checks on myself and they come back OK. I am being inducted into a new job that I am anxious to take- the process is almost completed and going well. HOWEVER I was asked to get an "H6" DMV driver license info printout and I was stunned to see that there is info about the conviction at the bottom of the page (my driving record is near perfect and the original crime had nothing to do with automobiles). Can I petition the DMV to clear my record thru my 1203.4? How long would it take? (I have to present the printout to HR department this Monday at 2pm. AND I answered "no" to the question "have you ever been convicted of a felony"). I may be able to change my answer to that part of the application before HR sees it: the guy I gave the application may allow that. I would answer: "yes; but the verdict has been changed to not guilty and the record of the conviction has been removed (exponged?)." It seems to me that the main purpose of 1203.4 is to allow applicants to answer "no" to this question- so it's pretty weird to have the record removed but then say: "there's no criminal record of me being convicted of a felony but I want to tell you about it anyway". 1203.4 is wonderful but seems open to different interpretations. The more I study 1203.4 relief it seems to me that the issue of how answer "have you ever been convicted of a felony?" is a tough one. How should I handle this? Is there a recommended way to answer the "have you ever been convicted of a felony" question? Will the DMW remove my conviction from their files? Is a pardon a way of wiping this clean? Much thanks for any advice.
